Melahat Yildirim, RM
Melahat Yildirim earned her medical degree from Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey, in 2000. She began her career as a family physician and worked in several regions of Turkey. She later chose to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Melahat completed her residency at Turgut Ozal University in Ankara. She then practiced as an OB/GYN physician for more than 10 years.
During this time, she cared for patients with both low- and high-risk pregnancies. She also published many articles on pregnancy-related topics in local and international journals. In addition, she holds a certificate in assisted reproductive technologies.
In 2020, Melahat moved to Canada. She pursued midwifery and completed the Midwifery Post-Baccalaureate Program for Health Professionals at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in 2022. She now brings her extensive experience and passion for maternal and reproductive health to Family Care Midwives.
Melahat speaks English and Turkish fluently. She provides compassionate, evidence-based care to the families she serves.
