Martha was born and raised in Venezuela, where she trained and worked as a general practitioner. While working in a busy maternity ward, she discovered her passion for supporting expectant parents and newborns—a calling that led her to pursue midwifery.
After moving to Canada seven years ago, Martha worked in a variety of health-related roles and specialized in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion. She later completed the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in 2019 and became a registered midwife in Ontario.
Martha joined Family Care Midwives in 2021. She provides compassionate, evidence-based care and values building strong relationships with the families she serves. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has conversational knowledge of French.
Martha is the proud mother of one beautiful daughter and is currently expecting her second child. She will be taking a maternity leave beginning in September 2025.
