Magdalena Pytel-Bevan is a registered midwife with a Master of Science degree in Midwifery and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. Her education stems back to Poland and Italy. She became a midwife in 2010 and moved to Canada in 2015 where she then completed the midwifery bridging program through Toronto Metropolitan University and was registered as a midwife in Canada. Additionally, she is a first aid CPR/AED and BLS instructor and is certified in providing contraceptive care, anti-racism and anti-oppression, grief and bereavement after loss, prevention of nosocomial infections and occupational safety and health.
All those years of education, training and practice has provided Magda with exceptional childbirth experiences within many different settings – urban, suburban and rural communities (Amish, Mennonite, and First Nations). She also had an opportunity to care for immigrant populations and populations with diverse socio-economic status including teenagers. She is fluent in both English and Polish and has a basic understanding of French, Spanish and Italian.
When she is not busy supporting parents during their childbearing journey, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, sightseeing, exercising and playing guitar.
