Magdalena Pytel-Bevan is a registered midwife with a Master of Science in Midwifery and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. Her educational journey began in Poland and Italy, where she first trained as a midwife in 2010. After moving to Canada in 2015, she completed the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program at Toronto Metropolitan University and became registered to practice midwifery in Ontario.
Magda brings a rich and diverse background to her practice, shaped by years of clinical experience in urban, suburban, and rural settings—including work with Amish, Mennonite, and First Nations communities. She has also cared for clients from immigrant backgrounds and across a wide range of socio-economic circumstances, including teenagers and those with complex needs. Her approach is grounded in cultural humility, compassion, and clinical excellence.
In addition to her midwifery practice, Magda is a certified instructor in First Aid, CPR/AED, and Basic Life Support (BLS). She is also trained in contraceptive care, anti-racism and anti-oppression, grief and bereavement following pregnancy loss, prevention of nosocomial infections, and occupational health and safety.
Magda is fluent in English and Polish, and has a basic understanding of French, Spanish, and Italian.
When she’s not supporting families through their childbearing journeys, Magda enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, sightseeing, exercising, and playing the guitar.
